The Philippine Statistics Authority – Regional Statistical Services Offices I (PSARSSOI) through ROIII Mellen M. Borja actively promoted the adoption of PhilSys Check among its relying parties as part of the agency’s mandate and advocacy efforts to inform the general public of Republic Act No. 11055, also known as the “Philippine Identification Systems Act.”

On 07 March 2024, ROIII Borja visited PhilHealth Regional Office I to inquire whether the office accepts the PhilID or ePhilID as a valid proof of identification for its clients. Consequently, additional cardholder information authentication is needed for the PhillD/ePhillD to be recognized as a valid form of identification. In connection with this, ROW Borja conducted an actual demonstration of the PhilSys Check’s functionality through http://verifv.philsvs.qov.ph and stressed the tool’s significance for all public and private transactions.

The PhilHealth staff expressed gratitude for the knowledge they had gained from the visit and asked to hold a separate lecture for all PhilHealth staff members on the key provisions of RA No. 11055.

The brief visit gave PSA-RSSO I a chance to address any questions or concerns that PhilHealth staff members had when interacting with customers. Finally, RON I Borja emphasized that any person or organization that refuses to accept, acknowledge, or recognize the PhillD or ePhillD will face the appropriate penalties.
