ILOCOS REGION. The Philippine Statistics Authority -Regional Statistical Services Office I (PSA-RSSO I) conducted the Second Level Training of the 2023 National Information and Communication & Technology Household Survey (NICTHS) from 23 to 26 January 2024 in the City of San Fernando, La Union. The training was attended by the provincial focal persons and alternate focal persons of the four provinces of the region. The training aimed at equipping the participants with the necessary skills and competence as they will serve as trainers during the third level training in their respective provinces.

The 2023 NICTHS aims to provide data on household and individual indicators in the post-recovery period following the COVID-19 pandemic. The survey will generate updated benchmarks for key ICT indicators that surged during the pandemic, as accelerated use of tCTs has been widely observed by households, individuals, government, and the private sector.

The NICTHS is part of the larger Digital Philippines initiative of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT). An initiative dedicated to providing every Filipino with access to vital ICT infrastructure and services. As the implementing agency for the 2023 NICTHS, the PSA enjoins all the sample households to participate in the survey. It will be conducted on 05 February to 06 March 2024.
