Registered live births in the region decreased
  • The number of registered live births in llocos Region on February 2020 summed up to 6,471 with a decrease of 6 percent from February 2019.
  • The daily average birth registration in the region for the month was at 223 births.
  • llocos Norte recorded an average daily births of 22 both in February 2020 and February 2019.

Pangasinan has more than a hundred daily average birth registration

  • The highest daily average birth registration in February 2019 and February 2020 was recorded in Pangasinan at 155 and 142, respectively. However, there was a decrease of 8 percent from 2019 to 2020.
  • llocos Sur and La Union posted a decrease of 15 percent on its daily average.
  • llocos Norte maintained a daily average of 22 birth registration for 2019 and 2020.

Pangasinan highest in terms of registered live births

  • Pangasinan posted the highest number of registered live births in February 2019 and February 2020 with 4,335 births and 4,129 births, respectively.
  • Pangasinan registered 64 percent of the total live births in the region in 2020
  • La Union followed at 14 percent then by llocos Surat 13 percent, and llocos Norte at 10 percent.
 
San Carlos City and Dagupan City tied the top registered number of live births
  • Among the cities/municipalities in the region, San Carlos City and Dagupan City, Pangasinan both registered 725 live births in February 2020.
  • City of Urdaneta, Pangasinan followed at 456 births; then City of San Femando, La Union with 413 births; and City of Alaminos, Pangasinan with 298 births.
  • The bottom six of the top ten cities/municipalities were Mangatarem, Pangasinan (260 births); City of Batac, llocos Norte (248 births); Agoo, La Union (227 births); Tayug, Pangasinan (222 births);and Laoag City, llocos Norte (207 births).
  • Municipalities of Carasi, llocos Norte; Burgos, llocos Sur; San Emilio, llocos Sur; San Esteban, llocos Sur; Sigay, llocos Sur; Luna, La Union; and Laoac, Pangasinan had the lowest number of registered live births in February 2020 with one registered birth each.

Males outnumber females in terms of registered live births
  • Males (3,299) outnumbered females (3,172\ in terms of registered live births. This data resulted to a sex ratio of 104 that translates to one hundred and four males in every one hundred females.
  • Pangasinan posted a sex ratio of 108 which was higher than the regional ratio
  • La Union followed with a sex ratio of 102
  • llocos Norte and llocos Sur both posted sex ratios less than one hundred. This indicates that there were more females than males registered in the provinces.
