The Inflation Rate in the Province of Ilocos Norte decreased from 8.3 percent in July 2022 to 7.4 percent in August 2022. The recorded inflation rate in the Province of Ilocos Norte is higher (7.4 %) than the recorded National Inflation Rate (6.3%). In addition, the months inflation was higher at 7.4 % as compared last year’s 3.8 percent. The computed average inflation for the eight month for the current year was at 6.4 percent (Table A and Figure 1). The recorded Inflation Rate of the province is higher than the recorded Inflation Rate of the Philippines (6.3%) and Ilocos Region (6.2%).
Among the provinces in the region, Ilocos Sur had the highest Inflation Rate at 7.7 %, followed by Ilocos Norte with a recorded Inflation Rate of 7.4 percent. Pangasinan and La Union recorded 6.5 percent and 3. 3 percent, respectively.
