The Philippine Statistics Authority - Regional Statistical Services Office 1 (PSA-RSSO1), led by its Regional Director Atty. Sheila O. De Guzman, recently met with Ms. Merma Lea R. Abalos, the Acting Area Director of Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) Northwest Luzon Postal Area 2 on 04 January 2024. The meeting aimed to strengthen their partnership in providing the return-to-sender (RTS) PhilID to registrants in the region.

During the discussion, several challenges were raised, such as: a) the unavailability of contact numbers of registrants, which made it difficult to deliver their PhilID; b) registrants were not physically present or available during the delivery attempt of their PhilID; and c) no specific information was provided for PhilID marked as deceased, moved out, unlocated, unknown, or double issuance.

Moreover, to ensure that registered individuals who have not yet received their PhilID get it promptly and start enjoying the benefits of being PhilSys registered, both parties have come up with some strategies. These include: 1) PSA team and PHLPost will work together to advertise the distribution schedule of PhillD, particularly in areas with high numbers of RTS; 2) PHLPost will closely coordinate with municipalities, up to the barangay level, regarding the distribution schedule of PhillD in plaza-type settings; and 3) PHLPost and PSA team will gather further information about registered individuals who have moved out or cannot be located.

PSA-RSS01 and PHLPost are committed to ensuring the delivery of PhillD to all registered individuals in the region.
