Pursuant to Proclamation 682 issued on January 28, 1991 by then President Corazon C. Aquino, February of each year is declared as Civil Registration Month. Relative to the event, February 23 of every year is observed as Universal Birth Registration Day as declared by then President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

To highlight the month-long celebration, the Philippine Statistics Authority RSSO I (Ilocos Region) will conduct activities with the theme “#napapanahongCRVS” which signifies the importance of up-to-date and reliable Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS). The theme also lends support to the advocacy of “getting everyone in the picture” to create greater awareness of the importance of CRVS.

These activities include display of streamers, Civil Registration and Vital Statistics Exhibit, Information Dissemination Fora on Civil Registration to various stakeholders, Public Forum, Civil Registration Quiz for PSA Personnel and Participation to activities of Provincial Statistical Offices (PSOs) in collaboration with the Local Civil Registry Offices (LCROs) such as Thanksgiving Mass, Mobile Registration, Training on the Registration of the Authority to Solemnize Marriage for Solemnizing Officers and PSA personnel, Updates on PhilCRIS and DVSS system, Information Dissemination and Updates on Civil Registration and Mass Wedding Ceremonies.

To make this endeavor a fruitful one, we are urging the public, various stakeholders and interested parties to actively participate in the various activities organized for this year’s Civil Registration Month celebration.
