04 July 2022 – Ilocos Region. The Philippine Statistics Authority – Regional Statistical Services Office I (PSA – RSSO I) will conduct the 2022 Annual Poverty Indicators Survey (APIS) from 08 to 30 July 2022 as rider survey to the July 2022 Round of the Labor Force Survey (LFS).

The 2022 APIS is the 15th round in the series of poverty indicators surveys. The survey aims to collect data that will be used to generate non-income poverty indicators as inputs to the Multi-Dimensional Poverty Index (MPI) and to update the economic profiles of Filipino families. It also provides information on the socio-economic profile of families and other information that are related to their living conditions.

On the other hand, the LFS is a nationwide quarterly and monthly survey of households that collects data on the population's demographic and socioeconomic characteristics of the population. It provides
up-to-date information on the country's labor force.

In addition, modules on Philippine Identification Card (PhilID) awareness, Philippine Competition Commission (PCC) and Philippine Competition Act (PCA) awareness, and migration experience in the last five years were included for this round. The PhilID questions aim to assess the extent of registration among household members 15 years old and over. The PCC questions intend to gauge household awareness of the PCC and PCA regarding business competition and improved consumer welfare.

This round of LFS and APIS will utilize tablets installed with Computer-Aided Data Collection System (CADaCS) during data collection. About 1,590 randomly selected sample housing units will be visited in the region by hired Statistical Researchers.

The PSA enjoins all sample households to support the July 2022 LFS and 2022 APIS by providing the information needed. Authorized PSA interviewers will visit the sample households to conduct a personal interview. All information collected by hired Statistical Researchers from the sample households shall be kept strictly confidential by virtue of Rule 29 of the Implementing Rules and Regulation of Republic Act 10625.
