The Philippine Statistics Authority – Regional Statistical Services Office I (PSA – RSSO I) will implement the field data collection for the June 2021 Labor Force Survey (LFS) on 08 to 26 June 2021 in Ilocos Region.
A total of 384 randomly selected sample households from 102 sample barangays and Enumeration Areas (EAs) in the region will be interviewed. Eight (8) hired Statistical Researchers (SRs) will undertake the survey using the Computer-Aided Personal Interview (CAPI).
As a safety measure against COVID-19, face-to-face or telephone interview shall be adopted by the hired SRs, whichever is feasible, and according to the respondent’s choice.
The monthly LFS aims to provide high frequency statistical information
on the Philippine labor market information to better monitor and understand the current job situation and economy in the Philippines as well as the impact of the current Coronavirus (COVID-19) health crisis.
Results of the monthly LFS will serve as basis for planning, formulation of policies, and implementing programs to create gainful employment and bolster livelihood opportunities for the Filipinos particularly those who were adversely affected by the COVID-19 crisis.
The PSA appeals to the sample households to cooperate and provide truthful, complete, and accurate information to the enumerators. The respondents are assured that data to be collected in the survey shall be covered by the confidentiality of information clause under Section 26 of Republic Act 10625, which stipulates that individual data furnished by a respondent to statistical inquiries, surveys, and censuses of the PSA shall be considered privileged information and such shall be inadmissible as evidence in any proceeding.
