04 February 2021 – Ilocos Region. The Philippine Statistics Authority – Regional Statistical Services Office I (PSA-RSSO I) conducted  the Second Level Training for the February 2021 Labor Force Survey (LFS) on 27 to 29 January 2021 via videoconferencing.  This was conducted to prepare the personnel for the field operations  of the said survey.

The February 2021 LFS is the first round of the monthly LFS based  on the PSA Board Resolution No. 8, series of 2020 – Approving  to Conduct the Monthly LFS.

The monthly LFS is a nationwide survey of households conducted  by the PSA to gather data on the demographic and socio-economic characteristics of the population. It aims to provide high frequency statistical information on the Philippine Labor Market to better understand the current situation of the employment and the economy  of the Philippines during the unprecedented 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

Around eight (8) hired Statistical Researchers (SRs) in the Ilocos Region  will undertake the survey from 08 to 24 February 2021  using the Computer-Aided Personal Interview (CAPI) with 400 sample housing units deemed sufficient to provide national level estimates of labor and employment statistics.

Minimum public health and safety standards against COVID-19  will be observed during the enumeration.

The PSA appeals to the sample households to cooperate and provide truthful, complete, and accurate information to the enumerators.  The information gathered will ultimately serve as vital input in evidencebased planning and decision-making. The respondents are assured  that data to be collected in the survey shall be covered  by the confidentiality of information clause under Section 26 of Republic Act 10625, which stipulates that individual data furnished by a respondent to statistical inquiries, surveys, and censuses of the PSA  shall be considered privileged information and such shall be inadmissible as evidence in any proceeding.
