The Philippine Statistics Authority - Pangasinan Provincial Statistical Office is conducting the 2023 Census of Philippine Business and Industry (CPBI) and the 2023 Input-Output Survey of Philippine Business and Industry (IOSPBI) from 06 May 2024 to 31 July 2024.

Prior to the conduct of field operation of the 2023 CPBI and 2023 IOSPBI, hired Team Supervisors, Statistical Researchers, and Receipt and Control Clerk attended a five-day Provincial Level Training on 16-20 April at PSA Conference Hall, Calasiao, Pangasinan to enhance their capability and knowledge on concepts and processes of the census/survey operation.

The 2023 CPBI is one of the three national censuses conducted by the PSA in accordance with Republic Act No. 10625 and designated as a statistical activity by EO No. 352, series of 1996. The CPBI aims to collect and generate information on the levels, structure, performance, and trends of economic activities of formal and informal establishments nationwide for the year 2023. The 2023 CPBI marks the 17th in the series of economic censuses in the country.

Meanwhile, the 2023 Input-Output Survey of Philippine Business and Industry (IOSPBI) is the 9th in the Input-Output (I-O) survey series conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority. The 2023 IOSPBI will be undertaken as a rider to the 2023 CPBI, seeking to collect detailed information on revenue, expenses, and inventories by product of businesses and industries covered in the 2023 CPBI to build the input structure and construct the distribution of output required for the compilation of the 2023 Supply and Use Table (SUT) and 2023 I-O Table.

Major data items to be collected in the 2023 CPBI and IOSPBI include establishment general information, employment, economic activities, and financial details.

A total sample of 1,817 establishments for CPBI and 280 establishments for IOSPBI will be covered in the province. Sample establishments were given multiple options to respond to the census/survey: (1) use the online questionnaire available at https://cpbi.psa.gov.ph, (2) utilize an electronic questionnaire in portable document format (PDF), or (3) complete the printed copy of the Self-Administered Questionnaire (SAQ).

With this, the PSA enjoins all sample establishments to support the 2023 CPBI and 2023 IOSPBI by providing truthful and complete information to all statistical inquiries to the authorized Statistical Researchers. Rest assured that all information gathered is kept strictly confidential and is not used for taxation, investigation, or law enforcement purposes, as stipulated in Section 26 of RA 10625 (Confidentiality of Information) and Section 8 of RA 10173 or the Data Privacy Act.
