The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – La Union Provincial Statistical Office conducts the geotagging of missing building points from processed post-census maps and delineation of Enumeration Areas (EAs) for the development of Enumeration Area Reference File (EARF) for the 2022 Census of Agriculture and Fisheries (2022 CAF) from April 4, 2022 to July 11, 2022.

The activity aims to update the post-processed statistical data and geospatial information collected during the conduct of 2020 Census of Population and Housing (2020 CPH), delineate EAs for the development of EARF, and modify block maps in preparation for the conduct of 2022 CAF.  The PSA’s goal is to achieve integrated geospatial information with statistical data through continuous development of Geographic Information System (GIS) - based census maps.

PSA-La Union hired and trained 12 mapping personnel composed of four Map Data Verifiers (MDVs), five Map Data Processors (MDPs), and three Map Data Reviewers (MDRs). The MDVs will conduct the geotagging of missing buildings based on CPH Forms 2 and 3, field validation of the proposed EA boundary for delineation, and adjust the proposed EA boundary if the boundary is not accessible or does not meet the criteria to be used for delineation.  Meanwhile, the MDPs are responsible in the preparation and configuration of the maps to be used for geotagging of buildings, delineation of EAs, and block mapping. They are also tasked to pre-process and post-process the data gathered during field data collection and validation. For the MDRs, they are tasked to assist in the evaluation and review of the quality of the maps submitted at the provincial office.

All hired mapping personnel deployed by PSA-La Union will coordinate with the Local Government Units (LGUs) before conducting the activity in their assigned areas. The PSA assures the public that all data and information collected by the hired mapping personnel are for statistical purposes only and shall not be used for purposes of taxation or investigation.   Information obtained from the respondents shall be accorded strictly confidential as provided under Republic Act 10625.
