As of 31 January 2025, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) - La Union Provincial Statistical Office, through its National ID team, has successfully registered 710,562 individuals under the National ID Step 2 registration.

Step 2 registration involves verifying demographic data and capturing biometric information such as fingerprints, iris scan, and front-facing photo.

A detailed breakdown of the number of registered individuals by city/municipality in La Union since its initial implementation in the first quarter of 2021 is presented in the table below.

The PSA- La Union National ID team’s dedication has resulted in the achievement of registering a total of 1,890 individuals for the month of January 2025 through the conduct of mobile registration, school-based registration, and colocation at the at PSA-Regional Statistical Services Office I (RSSO I) Civil Registry System (CRS) outlet bringing the National ID registration closer to the registrants in the province.

PSA-La Union continuously operates its Fix Registration Center (FRC) situated at Doña Pepita Bldg., Quezon Ave., Brgy. II, City of San Fernando, La Union from Mondays to Saturdays to cater Step 2 Registration, inquiry about National ID, request for National ID in paper format, and update of existing National ID information if there are any errors or change of entry/ies in a registered individual National ID data.

The National ID registration is open to individuals (5 years old and over) who are not yet registered to the Step 2 registration which includes verifying of demographic data and capturing biometric of information such as fingerprints, iris scan, and front-facing photo. Additionally, the National ID also covers individuals aged 0 to 4 years old whose demographic characteristics and front-facing photos will be collected.
