The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – La Union Provincial Statistical Office implements the Crops Production Survey (CrPS) for third quarter 2021 round on August 19 to 31, 2021 in La Union.

The CrPS aims to generate production estimates on crops other than palay and corn at the national, regional and provincial levels disaggregation. Production,
area planted/harvested, and number of bearing trees/hills/vines are the unit for analysis of said activity.

The survey covers more than 280 crops subclassified under three commodity groupings, namely: Non-food and Industrial Crops; Fruit Crops; and Vegetables and Root crops. Hybrid mode of interviewing will be implemented by the Statistical Researchers (SRs) during the survey, that includes, face-to-face paper and pencil interview (PAPI) or telephone interview and sending of accomplished questionnaires through email if the area to be visited is a high risk area of Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).

PSA enjoins the support of the Local Government Units (LGUs) and cooperation of sample respondents to support the conduct of this undertaking.  Respondents are assured that the data that will be collected from the CrPS shall be covered by the confidentiality of information clause under Section 26 of Republic Act 10625, which stipulates that individual data furnished by a respondent to statistical inquiries, surveys, and censuses of the PSA shall be considered privileged information and such shall be inadmissible as evidence in any proceeding.

Furthermore, the respondents are assured that all hired SRs are in good health condition and will strictly follow precautionary measures against COVID-19 and shall likewise abide with the health and safety protocols of the LGUs to ensure the health and safety of involved individuals.
