To cover more registrants despite the challenges brought by the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – La Union continues to bring the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) registration closer to the people through another mode of registration - the PhilSys institutional registration.
Section 2 of the Republic Act No. 11055 or the “Philippine Identification System Act,” declares that it is the policy of the State to establish a single national identification system for all Filipino citizens and resident aliens of the Republic of the Philippines.
In line with the overarching goal of PhilSys to achieve universal coverage and accessibility, the conduct of institutional registration allows the PSA to register uniformed personnel, medical personnel, employees of government and private establishments, and students and members of the academe, among others within the premises of their institution.
For institutional registration, both the demographic and biometric information of target registrants shall be captured sequentially onsite using the PhilSys registration client system application. PSA-La Union coordinates with various government agencies, homeowners’ associations, exclusive residences, non-government organizations, and private companies for the conduct of institutional registration in the province.
In the on-going PhilSys registration in the province, PSA-La Union already conducted institutional registration in 30 institutions in La Union that included from government and private agencies: Social Security System(SSS), National Food Authority (NFA), Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU), Eufrosina Heights, Pag-BIG Fund, National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM), Saint Louis College, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU), HAVILAH 1 Subdivision, Lingsat Integrated School, Philippine National Police (PNP) Camp Diego Silang, National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), Bethany Hospital, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), PNP Regional Office, Bureau of Jail and Management Penology (BJMP), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Land Transportation Office (LTO), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Department of Budget Management (DBM), Commission on Audit (COA), Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), Philippine Air Force, Department of Health (DOH), Philippine Coastguard, Civil Service Commission, and CSI Mall.
PSA–La Union personnel assures that all demographic and biometric information were captured properly to provide the best service to all registrants. Meanwhile, the agency also encourages other institutions to coordinate with PSA-La Union tor the conduct of PhilSys institutional registration at their most convenient time.
