08 May 2021 – Ilocos Region. The Philippine Statistics Authority – Regional Statistical Services Office I (PSA-RSSO I) conducts  the May 2021 Labor Force Survey (LFS). The third round of the monthly LFS based on the PSA Board Resolution No. 08, Series of 2020: “Approving the Conduct of the Monthly Labor Force Survey  and the Generation of the Monthly Labor and Employment Statistics  will be undertaken from 08 to 29 May 2021.

Around 8 hired Statistical Researchers (SRs) will undertake the survey using the Computer-Aided Personal Interview (CAPI) in Ilocos Region.  A total of 384 randomly selected sample households from 102 sample barangays and Enumeration Areas in the region will be interviewed.

The LFS is a nationwide monthly survey of households conducted  by the PSA to gather data on the demographic and socio-economic characteristics of the population. It aims to provide a quantitative framework for the preparation of plans and formulation of policies affecting the labor market.

Results of the monthly LFS serve as basis for planning, formulation  of policies, and implementing programs to create gainful employment  and bolster livelihood opportunities for the Filipinos particularly those  who were adversely affected by the COVID-19 crisis.

Minimum public health and safety standards will be observed during the enumeration.

The PSA appeals to the sample households to cooperate and provide truthful, complete, and accurate information to the enumerators.  The information gathered will ultimately serve as a vital input in evidencebased planning and decision-making. The respondents are assured  that data to be collected in the survey shall be covered by the confidentiality of information clause under Section 26 of Republic Act 10625, which stipulates that individual data furnished by a respondent to statistical inquiries, surveys, and censuses of the PSA  shall be considered privileged information and such shall be inadmissible as evidence in any proceeding.
