The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Ilocos Norte Provincial Statistical Office (PSO), in collaboration with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), will conduct the Consumer Expectations Survey (CES).

In preparation, Ms. Mary Joy P. Mapugay and Mr. Jonnidale T. Gorospe, along with two hired statistical researchers, participated in the online Second Level Training held on March 4-5, 2025.

The CES is a household-based survey on the consumers’ assessment of their family income, financial situation and the economic condition of the country. Its objectives include: 1) providing regular assessments of consumers' financial and economic outlooks, 2) forecasting the country’s economic activity based on consumers' perspectives, 3) assessing consumer confidence in income, expenditures, and key economic indicators like inflation, exchange rates, and interest rates, 4) evaluating consumers' savings, 5) assessing household debt, and 6) measuring the ownership of financial accounts and use of digital payments among household members.

The enumeration period will take place from March 6 to 14, 2025. The PSO Ilocos Norte urges sample households to actively participate and support the survey to ensure accurate and reliable data collection.
