15 February 2023 – BANGUI, ILOCOS NORTE. In partnership with the Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO) of Bangui, PSA- Ilocos Norte Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) headed by Chief Statistical Specialist Marilyn P. Vergara participated in the Mobile Civil Registration at Barangay Baruyen on February 15, 2023.

Services offered by the PSO include late registration through PhilSys Birth Registration Assistance Project (PBRAP), assistance in securing Civil Registry Documents (CRDs) through Batch Request Entry System (BREQS), and PhilSys registration and consultation. During the activity, there were six (6) individuals who were able to register their birth through PBRAP, five (5) correction of CRDs were processed and forty (40) CRD requests were secured through BREQS.

The mobile registration is part of the celebration of the 33^rd Civil Registration Month (CRM) of Bangui, Ilocos Norte. The activity is an essential tool in achieving goal of the celebration as it brings the services of the Civil Registry Office closer to the public. It is also in line with the goals of Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) decade which is to achieve a 100 % registration of vital events nationwide.

CSS Vergara, during her statement on the opening of CRM provincial celebration, signified her full support and commitment to civil registration activities of LCROs. She firmly believes that as key players of CRVS, PSA and LCROs should conduct more partnership activities especially in delivering services to barangays in order to achieve inclusivity and efficiency of civil registration services.

With this year’s theme, “PSA @ 10: Providing Efficient and Effective Civil Registration and Vital Statistics through Digital Transformation”, the Provincial Statistical Office encourages its partners and key players of civil registration, and the public to support the activities and new projects of PSA geared towards improving CRVS services throughout the country.
