ROSALES, PANGASINAN. The Philippine Statistics Authority through the Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) of Pangasinan and Regional Statistical Services Office I (RSSO I) inaugurated the Civil Registration System (CRS) - Rosales, Pangasinan outlet on 19 April 2024.
The inauguration started with a thanksgiving mass, followed by the ribbon-cutting ceremony which was headed by Secretary Conrado M. Estrella III of the Department of Agrarian Reform, OIC-Deputy National Statistician Clemente S. Manaog of PSA Civil Registration and Central Support Office (CRCSO), and Mayor William S. Cezar of Rosales, Pangasinan.
In his welcome message, Chief Statistical Specialist Edgar M. Norberte of PSO Pangasinan said that the opening of the CRS-Rosales outlet brings the civil registration services closer not only to the people of Rosales but also to the nearby towns in the province, including towns in Neva Ecija and Tarlac.
Meanwhile, OIC-DNS Manaog mentioned that CRS-Rosales is the 68th outlet of the 80 target CRS outlets nationwide. He emphasized the importance of Civil Registration as proof of legal identity and racial belongingness of a person. He mentioned that the collaboration of the Local Government Units (LGUs) through the Local Civil Registry Offices and PSA is crucial in preserving the integrity of civil registration services. Furthermore, OIC-DNS Manaoag said that the PSA will continue its efforts to open more CRS outlets with the support of the Local Government Units.
On the other hand, Mayor Cezar said that the inclusion of the CRS-outlet in the municipality is towards the fulfillment of the municipality’s vision to be a premium hub for inclusive government service.
Secretary Estrella, on the other hand, highlighted that the entry of the CRS-Rosales outlet will not only bring the civil registration services closer to the people but also provide economic opportunities for the people, thus, contributes also to the growth of the local economy of Rosales, Pangasinan.
To inform the public of the various services that the CRS-outlet will provide to the people, RSSO I Regional Director Atty. Sheila O. De Guzman presented the overview of the CRS. She also mentioned that with the additional outlet, llocos Region is one of the few regions with more than 1:1 province to outlet ratio.
Supervising Statistical Specialist ended the program by thanking all the participants and the continued support of the Local Government Units not only of Rosales, Pangasinan but also of the nearby towns.
The CRS-Rosales outlet begun catering to people on 19 April 2024 and shall continue to serve walk-in clients while the appointment system is not yet available.
