18 January 2022 – ILOCOS REGION. More than three million Filipinos  have completed Step 2 Registration of the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) in Ilocos Region.

As of 31 December 2021, a total of 3,447,278 registrants in Ilocos Region have completed their Step 2 registrations which involve verifying  the registrant’s demographic information and capturing their biometric data, such as fingerprints, iris scans, and front-facing photographs.

The province of Pangasinan successfully registered 2,191,014 individuals. It is the sole province in the region to hit the million mark. 

On the other hand, the province of La Union recorded 529,730 registrants, followed by Ilocos Sur with 462,066 and Ilocos Norte with 264,468.

Through PhilSys, the PSA aims to provide registrants with easier access  to social protection, health, education, and other government services.
