The Ilocos Norte Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) launched the National ID System “Rehistro Bulilit” Campaign in Adams, Ilocos Norte on 02 September 2024 and successfully registered 48 children aged 1 to 4 years old and 31 individuals aged 5 years old and above.
Ms. Marilyn P. Vergara, Chief Statistical Specialist of Ilocos Norte PSO, together with the PhilSys team, facilitated the launching of the campaign which highlights the provision of National ID services, information dissemination, games, and other engaging activities for the attendees from five (5) Day Care Centers of the Municipality.
The event was coordinated through the Local Civil Registry Office of the Municipality headed by Municipal Civil Registrar Rosemarie S. Aman, and the Office of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development. Honorable Mayor Rosalia D. Dupagen was also present during the launching of the Rehistro Bulilit.
The primary aim of the campaign is to increase the registration turnout of children aged one to four years old. It also aims to encourage parents/guardians in their absence to register their children to the National ID System and ensure that they are aware and able to comply with the necessary supporting document/s to present during registration.
On February 12, 2024, children aged one to four years old may be registered to the National ID System, provided that the accompanying parent or guardian is a holder of National ID.
In the province of Ilocos Norte, 517, 578 have successfully registered with the National ID as of August 31, 2024. The accomplishment represents 90.03 percent of the target registrants in the province. However, the majority belong to the 5 years old and up age group.
Ilocos Norte PSO targets to register 30, 342 children aged 1 to 4 years old, and will continue to conduct Rehistro Bulilit in other municipalities this month of September.
