Household population comprises 99.94 percent of the total population

As of 01 May 2020, Sudipen, La Union had a total population of 17,187 persons. Of this total, the household population comprised 99.94 percent or 17,176 persons. This is 0.16 thousand lower than the 17,021 household population in 2015, and 0.65 thousand more than the 16,527 household population posted in 2010. (Table A)

The remaining 0.06 percent of the total population is comprised of the institutional population or those residing in collective or institutional living quarters such as hospitals, orphanages, and military camps; and of Filipinos in Philippine embassies, consulates, and missions abroad.
Number of households increased by 0.43 thousand from 3.81 thousand in 2015 to 4.24 thousand in 2020

The total number of households in Sudipen, La Union reached 4,238 in 2020. This is higher by 0.43 thousand compared with the 3,810 households in 2015 and by 0.67 thousand compared with 3,570 households in 2010. (Table B)
Two in every five households in the municipality are in Barangays Ipet, Castro, Old Central, Sengngat, and Poblacion

Among the 17 barangays of the municipality, Ipet had the most number of households in 2020 with 469, followed by Castro with 384, Old Central with 328, Sengngat with 321, and Poblacion with 298. These five barangays comprised 42.47 percent of the total households in the municipality. The barangay of San Francisco Norte posted the least number of households with 127 households.
Average household size declines to 4.1 persons in 2020

The average household size (AHS) of the municipality decreased from 4.5 persons in 2015 to 4.1 persons in 2020. In 2010, there were 4.6 persons, on average, per household. (Table C and Figure 1)

Six out of 17 barangays posted an AHS higher than the municipality’s AHS of 4.1 persons.
