Household population comprises 99.89 percent of the total population

  • As of 01 May 2020, Caba, La Union had a total population of 23,119 persons. Of this total, the household population comprised 99.89 percent or 23,093 persons. This is 1.13 thousand higher than the 21,965 household population in 2015, and 1.90 thousand more than the 21,198 household population posted in 2010. (Table A)

  • The remaining 0.11 percent of the total population is comprised of the institutional population or those residing in collective or institutional living quarters such as hospitals, orphanages, and military camps; and of Filipinos in Philippine embassies, consulates, and missions abroad.

 

Number of households increased by 0.70 thousand from 5.23 thousand in 2015 to 5.92 thousand in 2020

  • The total number of households in Caba, La Union reached 5,923 in 2020. This is higher by 0.70 thousand compared with the 5,227 households in 2015 and by 1.13 thousand compared with 4,794 households in 2010. (Table B)

 

Two in every five households in the municipality are in Barangays San Jose, Gana, Santiago Sur, San Carlos, and San Cornelio

  • Among the 17 barangays, San Jose had the most number of households in 2020 with 675, followed by Gana with 513, Santiago Sur with 475, San Carlos with 435 and San Cornelio with 383. These five barangays comprised 41.89 percent of the total households in the municipality. The barangay of Wenceslao posted the least number of households with 117 households.

 

Average household size declines to 3.9 persons in 2020

  • The average household size (AHS) of the municipality decreased from 4.2 persons in 2015 to 3.9 persons in 2020. In 2010, there were 4.4 persons, on average, per household. (Table C and Figure 1)

  • Five out of 17 barangays posted an AHS higher than the municipality’s AHS of 3.9 persons.
