Household population comprises 99.95 percent of the total population

  • As of 01 May 2020, Bangar, La Union had a total population of 38,041 persons. Of this total, the household population comprised 99.95 percent or 38,022 persons. This is 2.08 thousand higher than the 35,946 household population in 2015, and 3.50 thousand more than the 34,520 household population posted in 2010. (Table A)

  • The remaining 0.05 percent of the total population is comprised of the institutional population or those residing in collective or institutional living quarters such as hospitals, orphanages, and military camps; and of Filipinos in Philippine embassies, consulates, and missions abroad.

 

Number of households increased by 1.41 thousand from 8.08 thousand in 2015 to 9.49 thousand in 2020

  • The total number of households in Bangar, La Union reached 9,485 in 2020. This is higher by 1.41 thousand compared with the 8,078 households in 2015 and by 2.12 thousand compared with 7,369 households in 2010. (Table B)

 

Two in every five households in the municipality are in Barangay Rissing, Mindoro, Paratong Norte, General Prim West, Cadapli, Nagsabaran, San Blas, Alzate, Barraca, and Consuegra

  • Among the 33 barangays, Rissing had the most number of households in 2020 with 595, followed by Mindoro with 490, Paratong Norte with 427, General Prim West and Cadapli with 390 each, Nagsabaran with 377, San Blas with 364, Alzate with 357, and Barraca and Consuegra with 355 each. These ten barangays comprised 43.23 percent of the total households in the municipality. The barangay of Caggao posted the least number of households with 57 households.

 

Average household size declines to 4.0 persons in 2020

  • The average household size (AHS) of the municipality decreased from 4.4 persons in 2015 to 4.0 persons in 2020. In 2010, there were 4.7 persons, on average, per household. (Table C and Figure 1)

  • Fourteen out of 47 barangays posted an AHS higher than the municipality’s AHS of 4.0 persons.
