Household population comprises 99.98 percent of the total population

  • As of 01 May 2020, Bagulin, La Union had a total population of 14,428 persons. Of this total, the household population comprised 99.98 percent or 14,425 persons. This is 1.01 thousand higher than the 13,420 household population in 2015, and 1.84 thousand more than the 12,584 household population posted in 2010. (Table A)

  • The remaining 0.02 percent of the total population is comprised of the institutional population or those residing in collective or institutional living quarters such as hospitals, orphanages, and military camps; and of Filipinos in Philippine embassies, consulates, and missions abroad.

 

Number of households increased by 0.36 thousand from 2.98 thousand in 2015 to 3.34 thousand in 2020

  • The total number of households in Bagulin, La Union reached 3,341 in 2020. This is higher by 0.36 thousand compared with the 2,978 households in 2015 and by 0.77 thousand compared with 2,572 households in 2010. (Table B)

 

Two in every five households in the municipality are in Barangay Dagup, Cambaly, and Suyo (Pob.)

  • Among the 10 barangays, Dagup had the most number of households in 2020 with 523, followed by Cambaly with 493 and Suyo (Pob.) with 449. These three barangays comprised 43.85 percent of the total number of households in the municipality. On the other end, the barangay of Libbo posted the least number of households with 240 households.

 

Average household size declines to 4.3 persons in 2020

  • The average household size (AHS) of the municipality decreased from 4.5 persons in 2015 to 4.3 persons in 2020. In 2010, there were 4.9 persons, on average, per household. (Table C and Figure 1)

  • Four out ten barangays posted an AHS higher than the municipality’s AHS of 4.3 persons.
