The volume of corn production in La Union decreased by 10.21 percent in 4th quarter 2021 at 1,064.00 metric tons from 1,185.00 metric tons in 4th quarter 2020. Only one type of corn (white corn) was grown in in the province during those periods.

As to area harvested for corn in 4th quarter 2021, it declined to 319.00 hectares from 334.00 hectares in 4th quarter 2020 or a decrease of 4.49 percent.   Likewise, the yield per hectare went down by 5.92 percent from 3.55 metric tons per hectare in 4th quarter 2020 to 3.34 metric tons per hectare in 4th quarter 2021.
