The 35th National Statistics Month (NSM) celebration with the theme “Advancing Data and Statistics Through Digital Transformation: A Road to an Empowered Nation" will commence in the llocos Region through an opening ceremony on 02 October 2024 at the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas - 
La Union Branch, Conference Room, City of San Fernando, La Union.

This year's celebration focuses on modernizing the statistical system of the country by embracing digital tools and platforms. This modernization aims to enhance the accuracy, timeliness, and accessibility of statistics, ultimately empowering decision-makers and stakeholders with valuable insights for informed decision-making and policy formulation that support national economic and social development.

The month-long celebration is being organized by the Regional Statistics Committee I (RSC I) composed of various Regional Line Agencies (RLAs), Local Government Units (LGUs), Academic Institutions and Private Sectors. The activities for this year’s celebration of the NSM in the region are the following NSM contests to be conducted at different venues and dates:

The four provinces in the ilocos Region will once again vie for the “35th NSM Best Province Implementer” award and 3rd Best PSC Award. Members of the Technical Working Group (TWG) Committee on NSM will have an onsite validation of the provincial contests and activities of each province in the region. In addition, a round table discussion among the RSC I TWG Committee members is scheduled to determine this year’s winner.

The awarding of the regional winners of various NSM contests and awarding of certificates of appreciation to the sponsors of various NSM activities in recognition of their invaluable support to the success of the NSM celebration will be the highlights of the 35th NSM Regional Closing Ceremony on 29 October 2024 at the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas - La Union Branch, City of San Fernando, La Union.
