Ilocos Region commence the 33rd celebration of the Civil Registration Month (CRM) this February with the theme, “PSA @10: Providing Efficient and Effective Civil Registration and Vital Statistics through Digital Transformation.”
The Philippine Statistics Authority – Regional Statistical Services Office I (PSA-RSSO I) opened the month-long celebration with a thanksgiving mass officiated by Father Joel Templa on February 1, 2023. This was participated by the employees of PSA-RSSO I.
The Civil Registration Month was also featured in the “Usapang Radyo sa Rehiyon Uno” program of Radyo Pilipinas. The radio program was anchored by Mr. Romeo Umipig (DWRS Tayug), Mr. Omar Aquino (DZMQ Dagupan), Dr. Maricel Fronda and Mr. Albert Caoile (DZAG Agoo).
Registration Officer IV Zenaida L. Garcillan of PSA informed the public of the various activities lined-up for the CRM celebration to include public forum, free issuance of civil registry documents to selected individuals, training on Civil Registration, and Regional Civil Registration and Vital Statistics Quiz Bee. Chief Administrative Officer Ms. Camille Carla U. Beltran, on the other hand, provided updates on the status of Philippine Identification (PhilID) System registration. Meanwhile, Information Officer I Jim Ian S. Bautista stated that the public could verify
the status of their Phil ID through this link: https://trn-verifier.philsys.gov.ph/. He also advocated the use of the online-appointment system for the application of civil registry documents. On the other hand, Registration Officer Karen F. Tamayo of the Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) Ilocos Sur informed the public of the various CRM activities in the province of Ilocos Sur. She mentioned that the province kicked-off the celebration with a motorcade, Civil Registration training, and Quiz Bee.
