ILOCOS REGION. As to date, Mr. Bernabe “Nabe” C. Gacute, 101 years old from Galimuyod, Ilocos Sur, is the oldest registered beneficiary of the PhilSys Birth Registration Assistance Project (PBRAP) in Ilocos Region.

During the awarding ceremony arranged by the municipality, Lolo Nabe received his Certificate of Live Birth (COLB) printed in Security Paper (SECPA) from RSSO I Regional Director (RD) Atty. Sheila O. De Guzman and officials from the said municipality. His three children and nearby residents also witnessed the said event.

The PBRAP aims to increase birth registration of individuals belonging in marginalized communities, Indigenous People, Muslim Filipinos, from the poorest sector, and persons currently living outside their place of birth.

Through this project, beneficiaries will receive their COLBs printed in SECPA free of charge, as well as other benefits such as waived registration fees due to late registration and free issuance of negative certification.

In addition, this activity is aligned with the commitment on Civil Registration and Vital Statistics Decade for the birth registration of 99.5 percent of Filipinos by the end of 2024.
