ILOCOS REGION. The Philippine Statistics Authority Regional Statistical Services Office I (PSA – RSSO I) conducted the 2025 Monthly Integrated Survey of Selected Industries (MISSI) and Producer Price Survey (PPS) Second Level Training on Field Operations and Data Processing on 11 to 13 February 2025 in the City of San Fernando, La Union.

The discussion focused on capacitating the Provincial Focal Persons and selected provincial employees who are directly involved in the MISSI and PPS in the proper distribution and collection of questionnaires, and processing of data. The training also highlights the new MISSI/PPS Data Processing System, which is a customized computer system utilized to automate the machine processing.

The MISSI monitors the performance of growth-oriented industries in the manufacturing section through monthly indicators in the form of indices and growth rates. It gathers monthly data on employment, compensation, value of production, revenue/sales, inventories and capacity utilization rate from manufacturing establishments. Meanwhile, the PPS collects monthly producer prices of industry products produced by sample establishments in the manufacturing section. It is the source of producer prices which are used in the generation and compilation of the monthly Producer Price Index (PPI) for the manufacturing section.

The PSA enjoins all sample manufacturing establishments to support and participate in both surveys by providing truthful information. All the data collected shall be treated with strict confidentiality and considered PRIVILEGED COMMUNICATION.
