The 2022 Annual Survey of Philippine Business and Industry (ASPBI) preliminary results showed that a total of 51 establishments were formally engaged in the construction section. This decreased by 8.9 percent compared to the 56 registered establishments in 2021.
The total employment was recorded at 2,454 in 2022, a decline of 23.2 percent from 3,196 in 2021. In addition, the average number of workers per establishment also reduced to 48 workers from 57 workers in 2021.

In 2022, the total expense incurred by the section was recorded at PhP 8.08 billion, indicating a growth of 55.1 percent from the PhP 5.21 billion total expense in 2021. Additionally, there were 2,427 compensated employees in 2022, representing a 23.8 percent decline compared to the 3,187 total number of paid employees in 2021.

The total compensation went down to PhP 503.08 million from the recorded PhP 683.64 million compensation in 2021. Accordingly, the average annual compensation per paid employee in 2022 decreased by 3.4 percent from PhP 214,509 in 2021 to PhP 207,283 in 2022.

In terms of total revenue, the section generated PhP 10.32 billion in 2022, an increase of 39.6 percent compared to PhP 7.39 billion total revenue in 2021.
On the other hand, the revenue per expense ratio for 2022 was recorded at 1.28, which was 9.9 percent less than the 1.42 for 2021. The ratio means that for every peso spent in 2022, the section generated a corresponding revenue of PhP 1.28.
