HR rules reiterated during CPO meetings

The officers and members of the Council of Personnel Officers (CPO) La Union Chapter conducted their regular meetings on February 18 and March 17, 2016, at the DepEd Division Office and CHED Regional Office 1 respectively.

During the first meeting, Dir. Violeta Mendoza, Provincial Director of the Civil Service Commission, reiterated the rules prohibiting the movement of officers and employees in the civil service, as well as the appointment or hiring of new employees during election period.   Dir. Mendoza added that the prohibition include the creation or filling up of new positions, promotion or giving of salary increase, remuneration and privileges to government employees during election period.

Other topics discussed by Dir. Mendoza were the recent Memorandum Circulars on amendments to the rules on paternity leave, search for outstanding public officials and filing of Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN).

During the second meeting,  plans for the Radio Awareness Program were highlighted by Mr. Franklin Quinzon, CPO President, while Dir. Mendoza discussed new Memorandum Circulars particularly  on awareness campaign about the Philippines’ chairmanship of ASEAN 2017, the celebration of National Women’s Month and 2016 Public Sector HR Symposium.

Representatives from the Bureau of Internal Revenue have also imparted the programs of their agency regarding the online payment of taxes.

Ms. Nancy Ordoña, the designated HR Officer, is the regular PSA-RSSO I representative in the CPO monthly meeting.
