Govt workers converge to honor Women’s Month

PSA RSSO I joins inter-agency celebration of Women’s Month in the region on March 16, 2016 at DMMMSU-MLUC, San Fernando City, La Union.  The celebration with the theme “Kapakanan ni Juana, Isama sa Agenda” was organized by the Regional Advocates on Gender Equality (RAGE), in which PSA is one among the members of the organization.  
 
The celebration, which started with a Fun Walk from San Fernando City Plaza to DMMMSU-MLUC, was participated by over 500 delegates from various Regional Line Agencies, Local Government Units and academic institutions.  After the fun walk, the delegates participated in the zumba exercise headed by the Department of Health.   Among the highlights of the event was the presentation on the Updates on Women and Men in Region I by Director Socrates Ramores of PSA-RSSO I.  He presented the various sex-disaggregated data available in the region covering various topics such as population, work, education, health and violence against women.  
 
The PSA staff also joined the cheer dance competition and various parlor games.  Raffle draws were also conducted wherein participating agencies contributed corporate giveaways as raffle prizes.  The PSA staff also took advantage of the various services such as massage, bone scanning, among others.
