The overall fisheries production in Region I registered positive growth in 3rd quarter 2017. From the total output of 24,599 metric tons in 3rd quarter 2016, it grew to 24,800 metric tons this 3rd quarter 2017. The number of registered live births in Region I (Ilocos Region) during the third quarter of 2017 summed up to 24,008, a decrease of 6.3 percent compared to 25,615 births on the same period of 2016. The daily average birth occurrence during the third quarter of 2017 was computed at 261 births or an average of 11 babies born per hour. The number of registered live births in Region I (Ilocos Region) during the first semester of 2017 summed up to 45,989, a decrease of 3.9 percent compared to 47,857 births on the same period of 2016. The daily average birth occurrence during the first semester of 2017 was computed at 254 births or an average of 11 babies born per hour. The month of January was observed to have the highest average daily births at 285 and 276 babies during the first semester of 2016 and 2017, respectively.
