Ilocos Region registered a total of 15,802 births in 1st quarter 2021. There were 13,289 total registered live births that were attended by medical practitioners, who may either be a physician, a nurse, or a midwife. Physicians topped the list of attendants at birth with 10,411 registered live births. Ilocos Region registered a total of 3,302 deaths in March 2021. Pangasinan topped the highest number of deaths. Its share was more than half (61 percent) of the total registered deaths in the region at 2,002 deaths. La Union ranked second with 15 percent (498 deaths). Ilocos Norte followed with 13 percent (430 deaths) and lastly, Ilocos Sur followed with 11 percent (372 deaths). There was an increase of 27 percent in the registered marriages in March 2021. From 1,202 registered marriages in March 2020, Ilocos Region registered 1,525 marriages in March 2021. Registered marriages in March 2021 in all provinces of Ilocos region is higher than March 2020 registered marriages. There were 4,530 total registered live births that were attended by medical practitioners, who may either be a physician, a nurse, or a midwife. Physicians topped the list of attendants at birth with 3,145 registered live births.
